November 2007

As you no doubt know, billionaire Richard Branson likes to "push the edge" in daring sports.

However, the very word "sport" signifies a GAME.

Therefore, it is bound to be played for fun!... And, there are strategies to enjoy every moment and to win in the end...

Oh, yes, every situatiion is different.  Not all situations are life-threatening...

But what you are doing *is* IMPORTANT. One life, one passage. It *is* IMPORTANT!

And to play the game without due regard to the very aids that make the sport of life a "game" rather than a scary place, full of threats and uncertainties cannot be called wise.

This is a special article by my dear friend, John Alexandrov, of www.TheMoneyChi.com

He's a financial attorney, and one of the sharpest minds (remember, he's an attorney, and *likes* to argue) both for and against the Law of Attraction.

You'll catch his outlook on life and the direction of his coaching if you read the following article, written by him.

Of course, he's a way huge fan of Napoleon Hill's works and of *The NEW Think and Grow Rich* by Ted Ciuba.

Here's an article he originally published on 15 November 2007, so you'll catch the time reference.. A turbulent time of the year. Storms are a regular occurence.

It's SO revealing!

*NOT In Conditions, But In The Person*

This time of year in New England, many people recall the tragic storm that hit us in 1991.

The ultimate convergence of three separate storms, each with its own potential for damage, created a super storm. One of the strongest in recorded history...

You may know it as "The Perfect Storm".

In the movie version of this tragedy, George Clooney played fishing boat Captain Billy Tynes, the soul searching, daring sea captain with an inclination to chase after the "big catch."

In real life, Billy Tynes was a well respected mariner who had years of experience in the fishing business. He had season after season of good years... Sometimes great years.

However, 1991 was different.

That year, Billy and his crew were facing the reality of a depleted swordfish stock. Fishermen were running scared.

So Billy decided he would give it one last try for the season. He’d go to any lengths to make his big catch. Then he and his crew could take the long winter off.

When he navigated his boat, the *Andrea Gail*, out of Gloucester harbor that day, the sky was blue and the ocean was calm.

Yet, Billy and the crew were on edge. It was almost as if they sensed the storm was coming... that inner radar that people often ignore.

The rest is history...

In a desperate attempt to make the last big catch of the season, the catch that would have saved his boat, his crew and his livelihood, Billy navigated beyond the range of radio contact. Beyond the point of no return.

The convergence of the three individual storms created a super storm so fierce it kicked up 100 foot waves! Waves as high as a ten story office building!!

Imagine it!

Billy Tyne, his crew and the *Andrea Gail* were never heard from again.

An interesting fact about this story is the *Andrea Gail* had a sister ship called the *Hannah Boden*, captained by Linda Greenlaw.

She took the same path as Billy while the same storm was approaching...

Yet Linda Greenlaw found safe harbor.

You see, Linda never lost radio contact. She stayed in touch with the Coast Guard the entire time she was at sea. They guided her around the storm... giving her direction, helping her navigate the troubled waters and keeping her faith and confidence in tact to survive the storm. She only had to "accept guidance" and "stay in contact".

Something Billy didn't do.

Yes, Billy Tyne is a legend here in New England... actually he's now a legend all around the world.

Like most people, when his livelihood was threatened, he made unwise decisions...

Sadly, he didn't survive the storm.
Linda Greenlaw?

She’s still living her dream of being a sea captain and harvesting the biggest catches of her life. She avoided the "storm of the century", saved her crew and lived to fish for many more days.
