So Strong, So True It Cuts Through The Clutter
Hi Friend,
Here's a tale of the sixth sense in action in "ordinary" business... A case of receiving a message from the Cosmic while you are involved in the mundane and sometimes clashing events of the day.
In commerce, refunds are a normal part of most ethical businesses, for a number of reasons. It's not a shame, it's a number.
Computers and clerks routinely handle the process.
But every now and then...
Out of respect for the person involved, I'll neither mention his name nor quote him, but just put it down to, though it was through email, he was one of those beligerant refund line customers we've all seen...
He was dissatisfied with his purchase. (In this case, I must admit, rightly so. A third party vendor had let him down.)
We'd offered him a flat-out, no restocking fee, across-the-board, 100% refund. Even though the product was well out of the refund period. Then he began getting irate and started shouting he wanted interest on his money, and a few other entitlement society things...
Usually I ignore tiny stuff like that... It's like stepping over dog poop on the sidewalk. You can see it... It smells like crap... But you go around it, holding your breath for nine seconds, and it's behind you.
But no one else knew what to do, so I took this one on, and spent a couple minutes to write him myself.

Hi Mr.X,
Interesting email you sent. Makes me wonder if you put the same passion into doing things that lead you to success.
As a good natured person myself, I have a major challenge connecting with the terrible life you must be going through. Most reasonable people, when confronted with a situation like this are pleased to get out minimizing damages. I just want to share a little story with you.
Four years ago, when I lived in Australia,my daughter Krystal ran away from home.
I was a single dad at the time.
My ex-girlfriend left me about 3 monthsbefore this happened.
So the feelings of having lost a girlfriendwho I loved and cared for very much, thenthe anguish and gut wrenching feelings of my "little girl" (14 at the time) running awayand leaving her Dad.... well I was in a verybad way!

I could have let this "life crisis" pull me down.
I could have "given up" and decided that lifejust wasn't for me.... and believe me, it's easyto do when you're at a low point in your life.
And yet, I took action that changed my lifefor the better Ted.
Positive steps and actions were needed to getme to where I wanted to go in my life.
So what ended up happening you may ask?
Now I talk all around the World as a featuredspeaker at the World Internet Summit... now I'm looked up to by many of my students asa source of inspiration, motivation & a shininglight to help them "see the way" on the netand in their life.
If my students would have seen my back then they would have turned the other way & listenedto someone else with results.
Let's look at my life today:
I live in Thailand.... I have a beautiful wifewho I love and care for VERY much... I have a lovely daughter who's from my wife's previousmarriage who is SO dear to me.... and Krystal(my daughter from Australia) has now comeand visited me to celebrate her 18th birthday!
Yes, my little girl has grown up to be a lovely young lady who I am very proud of.
Do you know how good I feel today?
If I'd made the wrong decisions "back then" Iwonder where I'd be today.... I wonder if mylife would have been as joyous as it is right now?
Today I am a happy man... today I am sharingmy life with Wanna (my wife), Di (our daughter),Krystal (my daughter from Australia) and herfiancee Chris who she loves very much!
(Yes he's come over to visit as well which is awesome)
This weekend I'd like to ask you to do somethingreally special Ted:
Phone someone you haven't talked to for a while,someone you love but haven't had the "balls" or"guts" to call.... give someone a hug and kiss who means a lot to you.. someone you've been tooscared or frightened of in the past.
